Most of the movie is a normal 2009-era romantic comedy, except you never see where he works, and everyone uses early 2000s flip phones. At the end of the movie, they get together, and he goes to work the next day, where it's revealed that he works at the Twin Towers on 9/11, and the movie ends with a plane hitting the tower.

The third faction in Indigo Prophecy is AIs that evolved on the internet and turned the MC into an undead cyborg. Supposedly this would have had much more build up had Cage not been forced to rush the game out the door, but going off his other games I have a feeling it would have been just as retarded no matter how much time he had.

A bit too challenging for a videogame plot, because you'd have to expect players to pay attention AND push through confusing plot until it makes sense. Both are tall orders. Of course there are hundreds of games with amnesia plots, but usually they're fairly conventional and you get up to speed fairly quickly about what's what.
