Legends is slop, with worse art direction, worse level design, and no sense of progression because every level is contained is paintings you jump to at any order unlike Origins which made a coherent world

Sucks that the 3 Rayman phone games that followed this were kinda 'eh. Two auto-runners (you timed the jumps/hover/attack), and one that tried to be a proper platformer, but had ass level design.

Murphy segments, which are required to revisit for 100% completion in the Switch version. Still love Legends.

Having started Origins a few days ago, having to repeat every level to get all the stuff isn't fun and it's a kinda floaty.
But damn there's such a pleasant atmosphere to it, just happy to be alive.

never played legends but origins was a pretty generic platformer. i cannot for example, recommend the game if you have a backlog of any platformers you are specifically interested in. however, it is one of the few 2d platformers designed with couch multiplayer in mind, and i had a good time playing that with my brother

Legends got delayed six months and ultimately killed the series when it could have been a good early Wii U game that could have gotten regular DLC and was going to feature the would-be amiibo mechanic before they officially revealed it.

I bought legends on PS4 because it was like $3 brand new. From this thread I can see the reception towards it is positive.

Legends has a perfectly normal progression from world to world, level to level, you skipping levels willy nilly is your idiotic way. If you do them from left to right its normal.
Dont act like you unlock level 1-2 and then can do 4-3 and 5-2

origins has the better gameplay by far. such better levels. but the musical levels in legends is the best rhythm game I have played that wasnt a dedicated rhythm game.
nice little detail that if you play as the barbarian girl unlocked in that world, she will mimic the instrument being played in the end level scoring platform.

For me Origins is probably my favorite 2D platformer. I never played Legends but I did play through Origins with a friend. It's good stuff and usually on sale for like 5 bucks at most.

I tried to 3 star each mission before going to the next.
restarting after making mistakes is so infuriating.
