Anyone playing this needs to stop. The game tricks you but really nothing happens and the revelations are the most basic shit, half of which was telegraphed in the first hour or two of the game. Most of the routes are malicious wastes of time. Drop it and play something else.

The game is actually really good if you just look up a guide/list of all the routes and pick which ones seem interesting. The website I used had a CG from each different route and that also helped pique my interest like this one

I'm only on day 30 but holy shit there's too many characters. they have to interject dialogue with their quirk constantly and it's just getting old. hopefully some more characters start dying, ideally the pumpkin chick soon

Kyoshika, shouma and kurara never get better and if they were removed from the game entirely with absolutely nothing to replace them the game would still end up better.

some of the other characters get more tolerable in certain routes while in the other 80% of routes they are also either one-note garbage or might as well not be present. The combat also never gets better, besides being able to get through it faster with some consumables. Basically what i'm saying is stop playing there's no light at the end of the tunnel.

apart from 999/vlr/danganronpa/ace attorney i don't really like visual novels in general.

Lobotomy Corporation/Library of Ruina/Limbus Company are probably the closest in style that i would strongly recommend, and they're not close in style at all really. I also liked Fuga.

Hundred Line is a prime example of "Less is More". The initial route works fantastically, but it loses steam once you go chasing the 100 endings due to how much padding there is. There is a far more streamlined version of the game that could have been made which would have resolved a whole ton of criticisms.

One of the underlying design tenets of the game must be 'waste as much of the player's time as you can' and then for some reason they made that tenet their highest fucking priority.

It is not. And it is weird cause i probably agree with all of the criticisms. I am on 20/100 endings and i am getting tired. And some of the endings i got already did read like amateur fanfic at some points. But why it works is that this is perfect misery porn. Compared to danganronpas you barely get to know the characters before killing starts. Here you read the first part for 30 hours and then when you got used to characters you see them die and fail in horrific ways in part 2 again and again.
