People say FFVIII is shit because of how broken the systems in it are, but personally that's why I love it so much. Is there any other Final Fantasy game where you can just abuse the absolute fuck out of every aspect of it?

Materia at least had locking rings and limitations to how they could be combined, junctioning can get you into the thousands range in terms of damage within minutes.

All of them if you love the grind is pretty fun. Me killing level 1 enemies in 1 hit for ap griding a weapon that would take a 3 minute battle for 3 ap. Feel OP from the get go and would usually figure out the quickest scaling advantage. In FF8 it was the card game and refining but to be fair I was spoiled on what all abilities a GF would unlock since I wanted to figure out what to level for the stats link.

I doubt you can get as op as with card mod in 8 in any "starting area" like having 100 tornados or whatever junctions on str.

Pretty much every FF game has an early game exploit of some kind. But FF2, 8 and tactics are probably the easiest to break.
