It's probably the best way to play the original. Runs on Vulkan, has mouselook and you can easily change a lot of different settings.

The remake is such wasted potential. Game teases with the idea that it's gonna be more horror but then immediately drops it and the maintenance deck, the creepiest place in the original, is literally the lamest in the remake. And the music, oh my fucking god the music, it's just droning ambiance when the original midi tracks were famously upbeat, and it's not a horror game after all so just change the music to literally anything else still a good game tho

Cyberspace in the OG was flawed but it had a meaningful role in the game. You'd pick up upgrades, software and hints that would cross over with real-world things, it was easy and over with quickly.
Remake cyberspace is tedious garbage and has no role except to waste your time. It doesn't tie in with the rest of the game at all. The ending is especially bad and the cyberspace filler takes way longer to get through.
