Enjoying the first few hours of Raidou. From what I gather from other anons, compared to the OG the remake has better gameplay and sound, but worse story/script and graphics (lighting/color palette). Any grandpas think a newcomer would be better off playing the ps2 version? Been a fan of SMT since before ps2 so the dated hardware doesn't bother me.

That's up to you. The UI is the worst offense the game has made in my opinion. It's mobile game tier. Don't know if the remake has QoL features or not. It IS NOT worth 50$. That is insane price for an old ps2 game even if it's remade.
