Ever notice how everyone's favorite Animal Crossing is always the one they played first? Are there any other game series like this? Where the actual quality of the game doesn't matter and people's opinions are based purely on nostalgia.

I still don't understand how some people prefer Wild World over the Gamecube one. Wild World felt stripped back in comparison aside from some QoL stuff. It didn't even have Christmas.
I dunno. I played the GC version first and I think the DS game might be the best one.

That said, I will always say that the best AC games are either the original (for single + local multiplayer) or the most recent one (for online and customization).
my first was gcn and my favorites are gcn > new leaf > new horizons
There's something really soulful about the first game that the rest of them never really recaptured. I like New leaf and horizons cause they're a bit like the sims but nintendo-ified
I only played GCN and NL. I actually hated the original on the gamecube as a kid. New Leaf was kind of an impulse purchase when I bought my 3DS and I ended up playing it for like 300 hours
