>>713210391 (OP)I got a Dreamcast for Christmas in 2000, and my parents could only afford a couple of games at first, but I was so excited and grateful. At first it was Crazy Taxi and Quake III Arena. I got others over the next few years, but it doesn't matter which. It had numerous good games of different genres, so look up the list and claim there's nothing worthwhile that you could buy for this system...
I don't really care to compare the tech, I just love it for nostalgia--for the good times I had playing games on it. I don't really care if those games were exclusive. I kept my Dreamcast--I don't play it, but I'll keep it until I'm dead, because it feels good to do it <3
Same with my Genesis. I was born in 1990, and Sega Channel on my Dad's Genesis is a core childhood memory for me. Same with playing the Tony Hawk demo on the PS1 for hours eating delivery pizza. My measure of the console is only how much fun I had using it.
None of that makes any of these consoles objectively superior, but the question is why are they beloved, so... I hope I don't need to explain that it's about more than just being the best tech, especially for someone who isn't an adult, but also for plenty of adults, and it's reasonable...
