Valheim at least has a cool aesthetic and theme behind it. Enshrouded is just another example of, โ€œWeโ€™re going to copy an existing idea but instead of actually doing anything cool with the idea weโ€™re just going to shove it full of GRAPHIX (which make it run worse).โ€

Best played through with 1 solid friend. We really enjoyed it, but not sure it would have been as good single player.

waiting for 1.0, like other early access games
each update nukes all your progress so just gonna wait
so tired of h aving to replay games over and over waiting for patches to finally do a full playthrough, ill play backlog games in the mean time

one thing i really hope they change is how the trees fall through the fucking ground when you chop them.

it's fun, but ultimately the base building is pointless as you don't really do anything with it besides place your crafting stations and NPCs there. so it just turns into an autism pixel placer.

the combat is fine, but rewards cheese strats too much so it trivializes difficulty.

Because it's half baked. The entire game is built around the Minecraft construction system and it's really obvious.
I'd say the combat exploration etc is at least tolerable, but the combat in particular needs work. They do seem to be at least making it slightly better each patch, but it still has a ways to go.

I've played the game a good bit and never had any progress lost in big updates, though I just play singleplayer so it might be different for servers. Worst I've had was some wonky voxels, but just digging near them updated it and fixed the problem.

I have 150hrs into it, it has some very big issues such as inventory management, shit needing a ludicrous amount of mats to make for the privilege of slight conveniences, once you out level a zone that zone becomes practically pointless to explore as you gain nothing, the devs have decided the focus should be cosmetics for base building, combat is shallow, skill tree has questionable design, the shroud becomes a non issue in the mid game.
It's early access yes but Valheim mogs it and it's not even close.

my biggest complaint is the building system is really cool, but once you realize it only looks good if you build rectangles it kinda stinks. i wish like the roof blocks they had a "math" block for curves of specific radius to get round structures.
