The game's low rank story is somehow harder than World's while being better paced and more like 4U's which was the best in the series up until this point so that's good. Combat is much better without clutch claw style shit, focus mode is the most non ass feeling gimmick they introduced yet, the monsters actually track you and target you properly, and you get properly one shot and punished for not playing well.
This game is just 4 Ultimate Part 2 and anyone who calls themselves a 'series vet" should feel this from the first few hunts. Hunts also barely lasted 10 minutes if that in 4U, and I liked the more punishing but faster hunts there, and I like them here now (didn't stop me from taking 29 minutes to kill AT Rey Dau), its the best non G Rank release we have had since third gen.
The game does have issues, mostly the lack of content at the end of high rank, and it does need optimizing for 3000 series cards, but any other issue than that is just poorjeets baiting. It feels really fun to have a monster hunter game where there isn't something annoying about it again like there was in World and Rise, it really is a return to form really.
