>Slop comes out
>It simply isn't fun
>"ermm actually the reason you don't like modern video games is because you didn't have bills 20 years ago, you just enjoyed being carefree"
>actually start believing this
>the first good modern game comes out
>Get fully into it, rearrange my life to play it more, listen to the soundtrack when im not playing it, spend days after finishing it thinking about it constantly, spend weeks afterwards discussing it online
It isn't some remake nostalgiabait, it isn't a sequel to anything, its a brand new IP which means video games actually were better 20 years ago, ex33 proves it.

I hate UEslop so much.
Not a single game made with it doesn't look generic and unremarkable.
It's visual garbage that looks samey across any 20 different games using the engine, kills creativity and visual identity, and put me off from even trying the game.

I am entirely convinced that all the people singing praises to this game haven't reached act 3. And a minority of those who did reach it, didn't reach the endings.
It's a story-focused game which contains some of shittiest and most retarded twists in a history of humans writing fiction, and all its endings feel like a joke at the player's expense.

Why do you fags always say this? The engine doesn’t determine the art style. You can make it look like anything you want and expedition 33 looks amazing

It also has fantastic direction for the cutscenes, immaculate use of camera and OST.

But people generally love it and its endings and how hard they hit.
>extremely flawed characters only allow somewhat fucked up endings

I think people who love those endings are the same people who love those humiliation cuck porn VNs. Sometimes there are mutants who take pleasure in someone feeding shit to them.

>make bog standard JRPG
>add in simple parry/dodge mechanics
>retards lose their mind
>"11/10 OMZG BEST GAME EVARR"
Why did this 7/10 get rated so highly? Is it because everything else is so shit these days?

Probably combination of everything else being shit and the aesthetic being both reasonably fresh for the genre and also accessible to people that'd otherwise get filtered by the anime shit so synonymous with JRPGs.

You can make any game made on any engine look unique, but that's a lot of effort and are you really going to go through all that effort when the engine already gives you premade visual effects? There's a reason why most of the time people can tell what engine a game was made in just by looking at it.
