Going back and forth between their vision for the game and the technical uncertainties must have felt like walking on a tightrope. On top of that you can tell they wanted to integrate everything they learned from their first game ever (W1) to improve the sequel. You can tell W2 had the similar compromises and growing pains as W1 just for different reasons. Regardless if you like the final product it had it's own identity.

I generally dislike post-processing effects, especially if it's so excessive as W2's but it adds to it's character. Having two mutually exclusive second Acts was also a ballsy move especially in the light of the financial disincentives.
