Hi anons, I decided to get back into this beautiful game (on XBOX, because as you know consoles are superior). I stopped playing couple years ago after the DLCs made my progression easier (free trucks, more money etc). But i just randomly figured out with a 'new game +' you can disable free dlc trucks! Very excited to start again. Any SnowRunner players here to recommend me settings that will make the game even more realistic? Not hardmode-level realistic but a bit harder than a normal campaign. Im thinking to make fuel have a cost but i wonder if its a good idea since im not the best driver and often need to try the same route multiple times.

Cheers

so i did something similar recently

the best thing you can do is make the sale value of the trucks less than the purchase cost. in the game normally you can sell trucks for a full refund, meaning it doesn't matter what truck you have you can always swap it out for something else.

if you make trucks and components not fully refundable you are locked in to whatever setup you choose, and it makes you care a lot more about it. there are plenty of free trucks around even in the first map so you get lots of variety.

fuel cost and etc. doesn't matter much, it just slows the rate at which you accumulate money and not even by that much, so i wouldn't bother with it. but make recovery expensive but affordable, so you can do it if you need to but not just to be lazy.

lastly, test out trucks before you buy them on a different save so you're not stuck with shit. the balancing in snowrunner is dumb as fuck in many ways and some trucks are legitimately fucking garbage when they shouldn't be.

actually it does kinda work as an incentive not to just always use your monster truck for everything, but even then not really.

yeah, alaska. I didnt flip the rig but flipped the helping truck twice. and when I finally got out of this mud, I couldnt get it on the road because there was no way to turn so I had to winch-position it
