>>713261151It became politicized in America, which meant it became tied, in some way, to the opposing faction that you don't like.
If you don't like republicans, obviously global warming is a real and immediate problem because republicans think it's not a real concern.
If you don't like democrats, obviously global warming is a scam made by the far left to destabilize American means of production.
People flock to big, bombastic, opinions and views. It's in the nature of humanity.
Which sucks, because even if you think climate change is real, it's not big or bombastic. It's a slow decline and a drip-feed of poison. No one can find it easy to care about unless it is sensationalized in some way. Left, right, and even middle need a huge deal made out of anything for things to occur.
Climate change is real, but it's not a bombastic issue and there's no super easy one-and-done fix.
Someone mentioned nuclear power and, while that's a start, doesn't cover resources, arable land, sustainable water, production of goods, the almighty dollar, modernization, third world catch-up speeds, and so on and so on.
So, humans will ignore the problem until it can't be ignored anymore, and then continue to blame the other side for not doing anything, or causing it, or killing Jesus, or whatever they can do to MAKE it political.
