/v/ros I'm so happy piracy exists, there's so many great games I never played on old systems that I literally never have to bother playing or paying for new slop if I don't want to. Also, general recommendation thread for older games and charts I guess.

that's why it is the best time to be a gamer, emulation is near flawless and run on any modern computer, 30years of vidia history at hand for free

I've been cruising through some older games on my deck like the 2d metroids and the emulation is completely flawless. I honestly prefer emulating over the real deal just for save states saving me a shitload of time on certain tedious or time wasting sections of old games.

SOVL. Haven't ever seen a bunch of those actually.

A lot of PS1 games aged like shit especially the 3D platformers. 2D platformers such as Megaman X4, Oddworld, etc have aged very well, though. Also, most of the RPGs are still great.

Genuinely hilarious how N64fags had to delude themselves into thinking N64 games were the pinnacle of their respective genres just because the N64's library was so fucking unbelievably abysmal. I also love their doublethink about how JRPGs are a shitty genre that don't matter at all when talking about the N64, but then ask about the SNES and they'll happily list off all the classic JRPGs for that generation.

Don't play westernslop as its usual with retro consoles and you are fine, there are a few good western titles like Die Hard Trilogy, Crash Bandicoot 1-3 and (kinda) Driver 1 but they aren't many

Forgot about Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, that is probably the best RE clone ever made, yes its 100% better than Dino Crisis.
