gets kinda samey after a while. They have the protag make fun of the gameplay loop (go to new area, get all the keys, go to next area) but never change it up. Music is good. Enemies feel bullet-spongey. Enemies aren't all that varied. Endless enemy respawn in the open world gets old. Looks nice though, and the aesthetic is peak. Didn't play any DLCs. The main game for ~$20-25 is a steal, any higher though it falls a bit short of expectations.

Never finished it because the gameplay was super average and the open world stuff was really bad and super annoying. And the main character was super annoying. And the upgrade tree was also weird.
World and lore seemed super cool. Hope the second one is actually fun because it deserves a good game.

The worst part is they repeated that shit so much it started to feel like a glitchy audio file stuck on loop. Like, who the hell thought "Crispy Critters!" was gonna be the next "Would you kindly?" or some deep character quirk? Even if there's some lore justification, it doesn't make it any less cringe when you hear it 40 times by the third hour. Writing felt AI-generated at points, ironically.
