I beat it in one day in a couple hours on original hardware, blind, and with only like half the upgrades. It has zero replayability either because the stage and boss design are so basic and boring

The final boss does so much damage that he basically two shots you before you can even learn his moveset (which is very basic, so it's a cheap gotcha) so before each run, you have to farm weapon drops and sub tanks from the worms. You can't even exit out as it won't let you, can't reset as you lose all progres, nor can you even kill yourself since it showers you with lives so it'd take forever to go through all 10 lives

I played X Challenge from the Legacy Collection recently, and I think it's kind of funny how strong shitters like Chill Penguin and Storm Eagle are as supports for a secondary boss.
