Guns existing alongside medieval fantasy isnโt anymore ridiculous than talking dragons, dudes in robes controlling fire, demons and gigantic monsters running around in plate armor like theyโre Olympic athletes. Yet it pisses people off to even suggest they should exist there.
It's a symbol of modernism, the destruction of the artistic mastery of swordcraft with the democratized guerilla slopfare emblematic of the decadent modernist enlightenment libtard Amerilard. Fantasy was created as a revolt against moderism.
>>713280993 (OP)Too much kitchen sink in fantasy already, you often have guns too.
I want fantasy that stick to a time period, bronze age or iron age/antiquity fantasy with actual historical aesthetics (weapons, armor, clothing) would be cool.
>>713281254Actually gorrilla warfare is quite sovlful too, what is not is the tacticool oper8or slop with guns made of plastics and 58 different attachments on them.
It's a conspiracy by mages.
More serious answer why there is no technical progress in a medieval fantasy setting. The magic is already known and does the same thing. All intellectuals are studying magic instead of natural science and become wizards instead of inventors.
>>713281527No, it's honorless. It embraces cowardice. It puts the value of individual life above the sancity of family honor and nation.
>>713281652>sancity of family honor and nationNation is a modernist fallacy. Ethnicity does not equal nation. And you forgot religion.
>>713281254Pic related is contemporary with arquebuses.
>>713282260german sallets are so much more /fa/ than italian ones
>>713282431Too bad that gothic armor looks it belongs to a skinny twink.
>>713282260yeah but wasnt arquebus designed just to pierce those armors? Lol
>>713283154No because they actually came before full plate, it just took a while for them to spread around and for people to realize their value so you start seeing them in large numbers when plate was everywhere. They weren't designed to specifically counter anything but they were very useful for dealing with armor and cavalry.
>>713280993 (OP)>post post apocalypse>technology goes back to medieval era stuff>some rugged firearms survive, like the ever based double barrelThis is what toddout should've been, instead of toddrym with guns.
Yawn, here we go again. The same thread over and over.
Best and most protective full plate armor was made in the renaissance era well after the invention of firearms. Thickest breastplates and helmets were made as a way to counter early firearms. By the end of the hundred years war no one in Europe considered firearms as a wacky new gimmick.
The medieval style feudal armies disappeared not only because of firearms but mainly because of military reforms, the population increase and cultural changes, which resulted in very large soldiery armies and the decline of nobility as a professional fighting force. The nature of war would have changed even without the firearms, it would have been tons and tons of pikemen.
