>>713298845Every public forum for discussing RoA2 is a cesspit of midwits who bring out the soapbox every time they lose a match. If it isn't people complaining about the absence of features which are on the development roadmap, it's people complaining that their character is too weak, every other character is too strong, this or that mechanic is imbalanced... and demanding that it should all be patched NOW. That's the issue with a competitive platform fighter that's being actively patched, as opposed to Melee. People just make constant, radical demands on a whim because they think if they're vocal enough, it'll be patched. It's just this constant back-and-forth between obnoxious drama queens who either think characters are literally unbeatable or that the world is ending because their character's air friction got changed by .05 units.
None of this is to say that the game doesn't have issues. I think floorhugging needs another look, the change to Zetterburn's fireball was and still is silly, and they're going to be grappling with balancing his shine forever for that matter.
Still, releasing the game "early" was the correct choice, because it has allowed the developers to get much more meaningful feedback about the game's features, mechanics, and balance.
