I got angry at Crash 1 when I was a kid(6 yo if I remember right) and failed Slippery Climb gem, threw controller against the floor(thankfully I was sitting) and piece of plastic came off.
My dad gave me a look and said. "Don't do that again."(To put it nicely and I don't want to try and translate it).
That was enough for me to know to not rage over vidya or break things. Didn't your parents teach you to not break stuff or shit your pants over video games?

The only thing I ever broke was a phone when my girlfriend broke up with me, because I treated her like shit and cheated on her. I was furious that I wouldn't be able to smash her anymore, because she was really good in bed.

In hindsight I should have treated her better, but oh well. I learned my lesson and found a much better girl in the process.

Some people are just wired differently. I had my ass beat as a kid constantly and all that it did was make me angrier and swear to get revenge when I was old enough to defend myself. Thankfully I didn't but I still grew up to be a bitter fuck. My brother withdrew and became a submissive introvert. It probably has something to do with the fight or flight response but I'm not actually sure. I don't know enough about child psychology. It's definitely more than just HURR LOW T VS HIGH T like the idiots ITT are claiming.

Beaten, molested, locked up unjustly and drugged to hide abuse at home... people associate this with drifters, losers, and criminals. I've never committed any serious crime, I've never used drugs, and I'm regarded as a pretty solid and trustworthy guy (if a bit withdrawn).

My brother was a pampered shit, even had cake and gifts on my birthdays, and mom let him beat the shit out of me but I was punished for defending myself. He was never punished, even when he called our mom a bitch for giving him a broken candy bar. Nobody laid a finger on him because he was under my mom's protections, but in my case, even my grandma put cigarettes but in me before I was 1 year old.

I have some issues, but I'm pretty level. My brother went stunning and brave, even had bottom surgery, and hated me for every day of his life.

Now mom's dead, I'm alone.

I think there's so many things that make up how we turn out. Not all of it is choice, or circumstances, it's just how we are and what we do with what we have, and who does or doesn't love us.
