3ds had the worst smash, mario kart, pokemon and monster hunter
what a grim era

I hate the tracks in it.

It's not hateworthy, but it's nothing special. Has some decent tracks, that's it. Whatever you can say about the other Mario Kart games, they're at least unique enough from each other. There's pretty much no reason to play 7 instead of 8DX.

I played it a lot but I didn't like it and still don't like it compared to DS because they got rid of vs mode
If I want to play a track I have to either time trial it, or play the whole fucking prix, crazy stupid

It's worse than that, they added customizable course selection but locked it to one of the worst implementations of Streetpass ever. To play the track you wanted, you had to

>make sure their online VR was high enough to hit 150cc (however, if it's too high it forces you into Mirror Mode)
>have them pick out the 4 courses you like the most, since it goes off of their course picks, not yours
So stupid.

I had more fun with 7 than with DD or Wii.

speaking of rainbow road. 7's port of snes RR was great because it preserved how narrow it is.

I've played this game on citra at higher res on an OLED display and god damn did it look better than the washed out newer games. Those colours pop. Makes me sad that we never got a 4DS

The funny thing is MKDD, MKWii and MK7 all share the same visuals overall, only difference being that MKWii has a godawful piss filter attached to it for some reason.

Worst 3D game tracks overall, but best Rainbow Road. Most of them were just really bland to go through, and basically all the ones that got turned into retro courses in future games were vast improvements than how they originally were on the 3DS.
While it introduced the gliders and underwater segments, it failed to do much at all interesting with them. The Rock Rock Mountain glider segment was memorable, but that was about it. Underwater was neat visually, but otherwise outright sucked and I won't miss it.
The first-person perspective was genuinely nifty though. I didn't always play using it, but it added some playstyle variety that was welcome.

Totally disagree. I loved a lot of the newer tracks in 7. Neo Bowser City, the underground pipe track, Warios ghost ship, Shy Guy Bazaar, the Rosalina track, etc. were all fantastic imo.

I just played a little on an emulator to remember how it was, did Mushroom and Shell Cup on 150cc.
It really is aggressively mid. I know the mechanics are pretty similar to 8 but it just feels a lot slower and like there's somehow less to do while driving. Sucks they siphoned some of the best retro tracks into this.
