REV2 is a huge improvement over 1, but I have to call out Revelation 1's Raid mode, as it's easily one of the worst grindy pieces of shit I ever attempted to slog through. Nearly 60 hours and I was still barely making any EXP gains. On top of having to play the same shitty maps again and again, you constantly run out of ammo, whereas this isn't a problem in Rev 2 (if you pick the right characters)

Rev 2's raid mode is such a breath of fresh air when I can use the weapons I want however I want.

the novelty of Rev1 was it was mindblowing for a game with console quality can be made on a small handheld back then like Holy shit. Nowadays it won't look that impressive but man when it launched it was impressive. Zoomies will never understand the feeling of experiencing technology advancement and I pity the fuck out of ya.

Also the campaign is co-opable, even though you practically always have a partner in 1 (outside of a few scenarios)

Anyone who prefers 1 has to be insane.

You mean the story that went nowhere and has no broader connection to the series? Rev 2 also has no connection to the series, but it at least tried to tell one with Moira. (I still kinda don't like Moira Burton but her being so unlikable has a point to it.)

Due to incompetence rather than rather than lack of tech advancement. Plenty of audio revolutions aren't implemented, because smarthphones have shitty sound chips, and most consumers are phone bitches. Games having to be able to run on handheld further holds them back, so do screens, as they are the actual bottle necks of technological advancement. What we would need is a new hardware architecture solely for gaming, however no one has 10 billion usd to spare to donate them to gaming.

You can actually play as the loli in RER2 with some cheat engine fuckery. It's always hilarious seeing a small girl in a teddy bear outfit with a shotgun shooting zomboids and then you have a big burly guy or Moira following her.

Also, Moira's Urban Ninja is fucking hot

i only played the first. been meaning to play the second but haven't gotten around to it yet. as for the first, i enjoyed it. decent balance of action and horror, something few horror games have managed to do. the final boss is a bitch, there is an insane difficulty spike out of nowhere and i got filtered and still haven't beat it.

I think Revelations 1 is the worst Resident Evil. Maybe it was okay for a 3DS game when it released but it is horrible by any other metric.

Revelations 2 is one of my favorite REs. Best story in the franchise, very solid gameplay, raid mode is incredible.

Man, Rev1 has such a fucking amazing premise, but the execution is just so middling

The game taking place in some huge abandoned cruise ship, perfect for exploration based /metrovania style progression, the zombies have this really unnerving designs too.

Instead the progression is mostly linear, the story keeps jumping to random other locations completely ruining the isolated vibe of you being trapped in that ship, and the story is also competing with RE6 for being batshit overthetop action flick
