Advance weapons generally show their strengths at higher levels. Advance Cranks don't reduce scaling on other stats so they tend to scale well, and later you actually have the amulets and consumables to make them work.

There's one thing I think that sucks about the storytelling and pacing. From a game perspective it is perfectly fine with how the levels are laid out and all though.
For all the early parts of the game you're told about your objective and where to go and what to do, this works till you meet Venigni and he asks you to kill that area's boss and find his puppet. You do that but after that point, the game just stops handling progress this way. People back at the hotel don't talk about a possible plan of fighting back and what you should do. They don't even acknowledge Venigni is back and the factory has stopped producing puppets thanks to you when you come back. This is after two of the NPC's in the hotel talking and asking you to help Venigni.
You just go to the next area because you can and nobody else is doing anything so might as well explore and kill everything that moves. There's also the fact that the Cathedral isn't one of the areas you're told to be a hotbed of puppet problems that need solving ASAP either. Maybe it's just me being asinine about story telling

I know but that happens before you deal with Venigni so the game still was pointing you towards places and it stops. He also is worried about people there but even he and others are mostly on the "well something might be wrong but maybe not, who knows" train. Even if the game said "ok I'm out of ideas, do whatever" outright the Cathedral doesn't feel like a good first spot when you're also told about the alchemists and the very important king of puppets. Hell, Rosa Isabelle street is right next to the Hotel anyways so it's not even us visiting the Cathedral on our way, that fucking thing is high up in a mountain out of the city. I'm ok with the game being this way but it wasn't like this up until that very specific point so it just feels inconsistent.

Use the statue and pay attention to the actual damage/health you get for each point, there's some pretty noticeable declines at 21, 26 and 31 (not exact numbers for every stat, use your eyes). By level 40 each point in Motivity only gives +1 damage, meanwhile at level 20 it was giving +4 damage. A balanced weapon with 30 Motivity + 30 Technique is getting more overall damage (ballpark numbers).

The game kind of tells you this if you read the stats screen, but not really. Just try to keep things reasonably balanced (you can still skip Advance if you're not using an Advance elemental damage weapon).

Her string flashes red when she tells the puppet to attack, there's some delay depending on the attack and (I'm not sure about this) some combos only get 1 flash despite multiple attacks, like the one with the kick, but the delay also means you can swap targetting and adjust to camera before it starts attacking
If you kill the puppet she can't do her phase two attacks until it's repaired, on NG it takes her long enough to heal it that you should be able to beat her without seeing phase two at all

If you could actually target enemies that are on an elevated Z axis relative to P of 3 feet or more, it would be way more useful. Like that hunting bow. But the fact that you can only really use it on a flat plane drops its utility down immensely. Using it on bosses is much too like the Eagle Eye. A crap shoot that's more akin to a liability than anything else.

Theres some nice smaller blades but so far I havent found very many motivity handles and I think I should probably save my cranks to make an A scaling weapon at some point. I imagine I cant be too far from the difficulty spike in bossfights Ive read about.

Oh also, don't worry about the scaling that much, it's absolutely fine to take a dex weapon like the dancer's curved sword handle and just slap a motivity crank on it. That will see you through NG fine

Where did this meme come from? Not everyone who prefers to play by themselves do it purely for bragging rights. It's annoying when the boss is constantly swapping targets and not paying attention to you for half of the fight. You only get one first playthrough, and I wanted to spend that experience doing something I personally enjoy. I plan to do a lot of replays, so I can just summon Lea in the next playthrough.

The default starting level 3 difficulty is much easier than the scaling I have at NG+6. It wouldn't be the same fight. Sure, I could beat the boss several times and unlock difficulty 5 which is probably on par with the scaling I'm dealing with, but that takes away from the very first victory against the boss. Yes, I'm autistic.

Is the game stuttery for anyone else? It's almost impossible to have a stable frame time graph in this game since the dlc

The DLC was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it more than the base game. I found myself really caring a lot about the characters this time around and even got emotional a few times. Also glad to see they didn't censor upskirt shots, something that so many modern games do, so the DLC is a 10/10 for that alone. Best weapon is the gunblade, best boss is arlekino

I did the same thing too, anon. People can't comprehend someone playing the game (that they paid money for) the way that they deem is most fun for them, and that there must be some ulterior motive for clout or e-peen points. The handle system is pretty ingenious but at the end of the day you just take a moveset you like and making the blade as heavy and long as you can stand

I loved the game when I played it at launch but I kinda lost interest now. Is the DLC worth it? $30 seems very steep. How many hours do you get out of it?

About 15 maybe? Mind you the base game took me 22 hours which I think is lower than average
The DLC is just more LoP but better, so probably not worth it if you're bored of the game
