I just want to say that this is one of the best games I've played in the last 15 years.
It's a 9.5/10 across the board, story, characters, gameplay, voice acting, and especially the music are all consistently high quality. This game is an almost hyperbolic example of something being criminally underrated.

The gameplay is totally different but it's way better then ZC 1 and 2
I loved the first 2 games but the combat was super shallow and it got old spamming the same 3 combos.
This one lets you blend moves together so you kind of make your own combos, it's up to you if you want super long combos or just play hit and dodge. It adds a lot of replayability although beating the game 3 times I almost always just use Boxing Stance because the animations are cool and it feels crisp.

Compared to the first 2 it will feel a little odd at first.
Everything you do can cancel into everything else, so its more about relentlessly attacking and repositioning using your evasive moves to keep up the offense rather than spacing like it was the first 2 games.
Real satisfying once you get the hang of it.

The only thing I didn't like was the lowish enemy variety, you end up fighting the same 10 or so 'main' enemies throughout the game with occasional new ones and some random trash mobs scattered around.
That being said every character is obviously meticulously hand-made and very unique, so I understand why it had to be that way.

Traveling further than 10 meters felt kind of gay and boring, but everything else was really good. Trying to Perfect Kax at the peak for about an hour was nice.

Is the game fun to play or does it just look quirky? What about the first one?
They're on my list just because the artstyle is very unique.
