Wii U was sent out to die by Nintendo.

The PS3 fucking sucked.
Sony cucked themselves really hard with this one especially when you consider it was the successor to the best selling console of all time.

>ridiculously complex hardware configuration that made developing games from scratch a nightmare and financial suicide, forcing developers to port the 360 version which was usually a buggy mess and a massive downgrade in quality.
By the time Sony got their shit together it was clear the 360 would dominate that console generation. Literally all they had produced was a relatively cheap Blu-ray player.

I very much remember all the time leading up to the system getting funded and released on /v/. No console ever had such a retarded audience. Not on /v/ but on kickstarter. Everyone on /v/ rightfully called it a piece of shit.

I was surprised how many retards didn't realize it was just an android TV box until it finally released. That being said it would of probably done a lot better in the current day mobile games were dogshit circa 2013 and while they're still dogshit today you can entice the gacha audience and phone chips have gotten a lot more powerful.

If you had this growing up, chances are you were one of those rich kids whose parents just bought you everything. I only ever met a single person IRL who actually owned on of these and he only had it because he was exactly that type of kid.
