"Story" shit the bed as soon as the Girlfriend was mentioned. If nothing else, the Angel Monster should have still lost the fight and given their power to Godzilla, who would promptly burst out of Red's stomach, grow to the same size as him, and have a real Kaiju fight with them, defeating them once and for all.
