I wandered around the world and its all just big areas with enemies shitted in.
Every place is dead and has nothing to offer besides a crap ton of enemies and maybe a boss to beat.
Castle stormveil was the best area so far as it actually wasnt 1 big open ield with skeletons in it.
I only found like a few side quests abut getting certain thing or killing a guy.

Why the fuck is this game considered to have a great and content full open world when its just big open fields with enemies gold ruines as items to find and maybe a boss (which is just a big seized normal enemy with a lifebar.)
Like holy shit this game is empthy and garbage and has nothing exciting to find.

the map is 99% empty with some caves on the sides and 1 legacy dungeon here and there

its not that it has 'no content' it has nothing more interesting then the stuff around it. what I mean is you explore and find a cave.. what's in it? the same repeat enemies from the last cave. the last dungeon. the last area. its the same thing, so why did you come here? no idea. this repeat 1000 hours until you've seen everything

I mean yea you're right. Its a game with 40-50 hours of content (mostly in legacy dungeons) streched into 100 hours of open world copy pasted slop.

Want my advice? Dont enter a single catacomb in the game. All of them are wastes of time and you will fight the same 2 gargoyle enemy in every one of them.

stormveil, raya lucaria, leyndell, farum azula, and the haligtree are the only good areas in the entire game

What more do you need? This game doesn't force you into guided tutorials all the time. It gives you cool weapons, cool magic, and cool, dangerous things to kill with said weapons and magic. And ifbyou find yourself stuck against something, you can explore somewhere else and get stronger.

What the fuck does the Undead Burg have? It has fuckall but paths to other areas.

My biggest gripe is how there constant instances of items you can see in some out of the way spot and you get to it, more than half the time it's also an ambush, but the item is always some common crafting ingredient, fuck off with that

Consumables are strong and infinite in this game as long as you pick up the plentiful materials

i might be the odd one out here but i literally never used consumables in elden ring
if a boss was hard it would never give me the edge i needed to win since the game is so dodge-based and you can't really just go toe-to-toe with bosses
and if a boss was easy i obviously never needed them

I loved my first playthrough of elden ring

There's just so much to see even if they dont always end in some amazing new weapon/armor to pick up. It's just a constant sense of wonder.

I hope ER2 comes out soon, it's already been like 3 years (which is crazy to think about)

Fromdrones are such mindless slaves they praise the game specifically for offering them nothing but the experience of being a murderhobo who rolls a lot.

Elden Ring base game is how open world should be.
It gives you actual rewards (weapons, spell, armor, talismans) for exploration.
Dungeons can be better. Verticality was fixed in SotE.
The only issue is crafting and ashes. Ashes is shit reward and mechanic. Just give me Verdict Day fully customizable AI and design game around it or fuck off.
Crafting is optional. Don't care how good it is the game isn't min max hard enough for you to craft shit. So it is useless reward for majority of players.

Well done, you have solved From Software's game design. Normally it was fine because their worlds were compact and dense. But Elden Ring took the "dead crumbling world where everyone is hostile" design and blew it up to massive scale, making it extremely noticeable that the giant open world has literally nothing in it other than some enemies, and there is no reason to fight 99% of these enemies because all the rewards for dungeons and optional boss fights are terrible.

if you literally remove the empty space it's smaller than dark souls 2.

This entire fucking game just tells me that the lands are extremely racist against tarnished for some reason when they're literally graced by GOD in the setting like what the fuck I can understand some factions but really how isn't there a schism forming as you press more into the game and defeat more demigods?
