I don't remember any levels from Doom outside of the first episode. I know I played them all, but I only remember episode 1.

didn't they change the art in this level in subsequent releases?

I'm an ultra-newfag so would love to know what you're referencing if you please.
>>713380512
Why not? Do you think they just weren't very memorable? Did you remember more of 2 and the master levels?
>>713380581
I just hate not being able to find things for ages is all.
>>713380587
Not sure. What might they have changed in particular?

Probably because I haven't played Vanilla doom in what feels like over twenty years. I don't recall being upset or anything. It was just "more doom".

i dont think i have an opinion about that specific level, only to say that i think most doom 1 levels are pretty bad (outside of episode 4 which is alright)

E4 is the worst. it's blocky and brown like doom 2

The music in this level always creeped me out for some reason.

That and E1 is shareware, so it was EVERYWHERE. E2-3 (and then 4) were retail/pay-for, so anyone that played Doom probably played the shit out of E1 and not the others.

Similar to how Descent 1 had like 7 maps, but if you go past the inner solar system to the outer ones (8-16[?] maps) you don't remember them like the initial 7.

It's an alright level. I feel like Episode 2 had some good and some bad levels. This one I felt was not so great, but had some weird but fun set pieces.

Had to watch a video to remind myself how this level plays out, there's always certain parts of a map that makes me remember everything.
I think it was alright I didn't have much trouble finding the way to exit.

This was some bullshit I would never forget

An oddly memorable level for me
The big red room and that weird room with the vines and cacodemons are ingrained into my mind

I didn’t remember it until I rewatched it. Most of E2 and 3 feel like a blur to me, but I think I remember finding running across all the nuclear waste in the level to be annoying.

one of the worst ones
punishing you for wanting to explore, but exploring is the only way to progress. Doom and old games loved this shit for some reason
