>>713382262This is true and the story betrays its own premise halfway through. The Dessendre family drama takes over and it goes from an odyssey style story where the legacies and sacrifices of those that came before you paved the way forward to a netflix chickslop show. Exploring the world becomes tedious and uninteresting. Scielle and Lune become completely irrelevant, they're literally betrayed by Verso who aimed to genocide their people and throw their sacrifices into the dirt, do one trauma dump, and then fuck him. The narrative treats everyone outside of the painters as fake, so why should you care? And since I didn't give a rat's ass about the Dessendres and their comically stupid tragedy (really? Their son got smoke by their enemies the fuckjng Writers? And the plot is mommy dearest is playing the equivalent of Sims to cope? Fucking lmao). Everything is too childish and immature for me to take seriously. Either the people of the canvas are real and the Dessendres immature and downright evil stupid gods, or nothing is real and fucking matters, in which case the story hinges on how much you care about a clinically stupid, disfunctional, French family.
