>>713390445 (OP) good shit. I remember renting out battletanx global assault at my local movie and video game store that the owner of the store just gave it to me.
>>713391186 Based. I like how towards the end of the rental era if you held a game for longer than your set rental time they'd just let you buy it off of them for a small price or even let you keep it because you essentially already paid for the whole game in late fees.

>>713390445 (OP) war thunder is unironically good i never wanted to touch it either but a friend basically forced me to play a few months ago and i haven't stopped
>>713390445 (OP) Game aged like shit, story wouldn't fly with modern audiences (Queen Lords sound empowering but a disease that wipes out 99% of all women would be too appealing to incels who would call it based)
I’ve dumped countless hours into battle tanx with my little brother growing up. We would clear the maps with nukes and just collect a crazy amount of items. The minefields and gun buddies we would lay down were insane.
I one time paused the game while using the teleporter at the Area 51 map. When I unpaused the camera would just keep rotating. I never seen anyone mention that on any of the cheat websites and really thought I made some sort of world first glitch find.

>>713391857 >NUKE DEPLOYED Yeah, your brain cells aged like shit faggot.
>>713390445 (OP) I fucking love Battletanx. I hate that we can't have a fun, arcadey game about post-apocalypse building destruction and sexy comic book ladies. I wonder if being in a post 9-11 world has anything to do with that. Feminism definitely is part of it.

>>713391857 >a disease that wipes out 99% of all women would be too appealing to incels Oh shut the fuck up. First, nobody wants pussy being even harder to come by. Second, who cares what some incel thinks? You really operate on such a petty level you don't want some nobody to feel happy over an irrelevant storyline in a game about tanks?
I loved shoving swarmer rockets up the ass of goliaths with motobikes

>>713393478 That shit was so OP. The only more broken faction was the one who always spawns with shields. In my house, I had a rule: No Iron Maidens. Shield is basically 1 free kill without consequences. And you spawn with that shit.

My favorite tanks were the faction exclusive ones. M-2 Hydra and the Hornet. M-2 is pretty basic all things considered, aside from just having 2 cannons. But Hornet could hook rockets around corners which was cool as shit.

>>713390445 (OP) That was considered slop even by N64 standards. Second worst controls on the console too possibly.
>>713390445 (OP) Based battletanx commander. This game is the ultimate hidden gem. I'm attempting to write a series of pulpy battletanx novels in the vein of something like the endworld novels of the 80s

>>713394690 I'd hesitate to call the first game's controls "bad" but blending the turret look into the thumbstick movement was a serious improvement. You might as well integrate the tank's turret so you can look about without having to hold a button to spin it. Very intuitive.
>>713392661 I remember cheating a bunch of nukes and the whole area would have a permenant yellow fog after a short time of using them

>>713395591 No, you can. But you have to hold a button to do it. Your turret won't lead your tank before it starts moving in that direction though. You are basically just steering the treads with the thumbstick in 1, until you hold R (IIRC).
>>713394728 Nope but I'm definitely going to now. I'm on a huge cyberpunk kick since playing 2077. Consuming loads of films and books, so I appreciate the rec. I really enjoyed Neuromancer but I thought it got a little too abstract/psycadelic at times. Impressive stuff from a guy who had never used a computer

Game story objectifies women so it won't be remade. Also all the tanks blow ass and the Goliath was too OP one-shotting everything with it's default gun. The multiplayer was dogwater and aiming half the special weapons felt like shit. This was a good product for it's time, but it's trash by modern standards
>>713396034 i wasnt even aware of the story when i played it. i just wanted vehicular carnage.

>>713395760 Come the fuck on. This is one of my favorite games, I've 1ccd it multiple times and I didn't know that. Just checked it out and its a control scheme in options
>>713396124 Not an opinion, it's literally what any AAA board of directors would tell you if you tried to pitch a remake/reboot of the game. Nintendo wouldn't make it, Sony wouldn't make it, Microsoft wouldn't make it. Only way this series is revived is by indie gamers who will change things up just enough to be legally distinct but also pack it full of trans/gay/woke bullshit
I've always wondered why there hasn't been a hybrid tank combat game that combines realistic internal tank damage models with arcadey style gameplay with lots of zipping around, lightning weapons and turrets, and tanks that can strafe by using rockets to roll around. I think Gaijin has experimented a bit with their april fools' day events for Warthunder, but that's it.
>>713397429 Realistic damage models isn't really compatible with fast, arcadey action. We're talking about tanks being partially disabled and awaiting death, vs. just having a health bar and being functional up until taking lethal damage. The latter is pretty crucial to the formula.

>>713397837 To be honest, I played almost no Twisted Metal because I was exclusively on N64 at the time. But of what I did, I vastly prefer Vigilante 8's weapon system, and instead of being able to do magic attacks at any time, you could only do combo attacks based on the weapon you picked up. I feel like that was the better system.
>>713398332 It was great. If you hit the same person several times in the same spot, they'd get cratered and unable to free themselves until they just sank into the earth and had to get dumped back onto the map somewhere else.
>>713390445 (OP) >99% of the women are killed >The remaining 1% are referred to as Queenlords where they have large harems of men and command them to do battle in tanks? B-based? How should I feel about this story?

>>713391725 >>713396324 Unfortunately this is true. War Thunder suffers from a great of bullshit fueled by greed and laziness, but there is truly nothing like it.
