upscaling to 4k will in 99.9% of cases look better than 1080p or 1440p, unless your input resolution is hideously low like 720p
1080p DLSSd to 4k has similar performance cost to 1440p but looks approximately like 1700p

i have extensively tested this, upscaling with dlss to 4k looks irrefutably better in every metric than 1080p or 1440p, unless your input resolution is subhuman tier. i'm not interested in debating this with you, you can test it yourself or if you don't have the hardware then go check it out on the internet, even people who hate jewvidia have tested this and reached the same conclusions
