The black recolors come with normal edition too (all versions), it's just preorder only atm. CS preorder locked them, HM added them to base roster (although HM had it's own preorder only stuff), I heard Survive added it's preorder DLC as a separate buy eventually so I assume Bamco will eventually make them DLC after a few months.

Does the game looks like it might be sorta fun? I've wanted to get into digimon for a while like every game outside of a couple old ones seem to be insanely mid

I mean, okay. So let's say that the season pass is worth $30. Three additional DLC episodes and five Digimon might justify that price if you ignore that they're doing that bullshit where they just take content that probably should have been in the game in order to charge them separately. But okay, fine, whatever.

But what exactly does the Ultimate Edition have? It's

>2) "Early unlock" for Digimon that you can eventually get anyway
>3) Music from Cyber Sleuth
It's an additional $20. $20 for a bunch of alt textures and early unlock for Digimon that are ALREADY AVAILABLE IN THE BASE GAME, as well as some music from Cyber Sleuth. I'll be honest, Cyber Sleuth's music wasn't really all that memorable enough for me to want to get this.

Originally, losing out on BlackWarGreymon and MetalGarurumon (Black) wasn't that big a deal since, frankly, they were just recolors. Sure some 02fags might have really wanted BlackWarGreymon, but in the end, that's all you were missing out on.

But what if there's more locked away? What if this doesn't just lock you out of BlackWarGreymon, MetalGarurumon (Black) and Omegamon Zwart? What if Omegamon Zwart D is also in the game but is locked behind this? What if Alter-B is locked behind this?

Paid DLC Digimon have been present since Cyber Sluts.
CS's was BlackAgumon and BlackGabumon's lines that were pre-order only, and if you missed them well tough luck since they're not for sale.
HM's was the NX Digimon and I believe Europe specifically had to pay for the Sistermons until they were delisted.
Survive's was the pre-order Guilmon.

No. If it's anything like CS and HM (Which it's looking like it is) they have preset stats and the most you can do is put 100 into any stat at most via the farm and ABI training.

I wish they actually added romance, the design on the girls were top notch in the last entry

Yeah Zwart (and maybe Zwart D, Alter-B) will be locked unless they change evo routes or add more possible fusions for it.

It's not the first time they would have done it, Next Order had weird DNA digivolutions for ZD and AB

I didn't like using Digimon who were members of the Royal Knights in my party because they were part of the story cast. Same with WarGreymon. But here, I won't have that problem so I'll probably use Omegamon for once.

Did you play CS? If yes then it's a neat little side game with a lot of filler in between the main story bits. The characters are solid and it expands on my underused side characters from CS.

Did you not play CS? If no then not at all. It explains next to nothing about what is going on and takes until like chapter 12 to even explain what EDEN Syndrome is let alone what Eaters are. It fully expects you to have played CS before you play it at all because the main story is not only full of spoilers for CS but directly has you as part of certain events.
