Do gamers now drop games because failing to approach an enemy to hit it is too frustrating, or is this a developer trick to mask how bad their hurt/hitboxes are?

How long till release? It looked fun, but the world looks empty and unfinished. There is like zero clutter anywhere, and their quest locations seem to be just using the same generic store assets as everywhere else. I feel like it would be fun for 4 or 5 hours, and then feel repetititve.
