Pic related just came out. Actually pretty good sans the awful poster/store page art.

Basically a horizontal metroidvania (or at least a open world, 2D action adventure game with RPG elements with some dungeons, bosses, hidden treasures, secret rooms), noticing some of these are coming out around the same time out of nowhere, all are based on Simon's Quest, but are actually palatable it seems. Had Infernax not long ago, which was more quest-based. The Transylvania Adventure of Simon Ques, which has reddit-tier marketing in the trailers, "remember le old game, remember the heckin turbo tunnel in... BATTLE TOADS!?!!?!?!?? 'member dated memes?" but still looks fun at least.

About 4 hours in. Pretty fun so far. Has some "fan game" issues despite being $20 bucks and with a publisher but I'm probably going to finish it. Feels like if Simons Quest was a good game.

There's one with some nice, big milkers I gotta find again.

These women would be extinct/stoned in modern France.

Infernax is the only one of these Simon's Quest clones that actually had any semblance of its own identity instead of just being Simon's Quest again with different graphics.

something about the game just feels and looks stiff and awkward, at least compared to SoTN which feels super smooth

demo was fine overall but it seems like a pretty short game going by reviews of people who have beat it already

Deedlit's game is a straight up SotN clone though, not a Simon's Quest clone.

I finished it a few days ago. I got the best ending and beat Bloodless

I enjoyed it. It's basically just a remake of Lecarde Chronicles 2 or just basically the third game with the literal CV stuff scrubbed out.

Yes I saw this and will probably pick it up next time I want a 2d side scrolling game. Looks not too bad at all. Nice arcade castlevaina feel to it.

Cameo super-hard bonus boss (she's so ridiculously strong that even at max level with all your gear, you can only do chip damage to her, invincibility doesn't work and you have no i-frames, and 4 hits from her results in instadeath).
