Now that the CBT is over, what went wrong?

Usual garbage performance optimization.
Usual fucky terrain, texture and general bugs
Lock-on camera angles is probably the worst I've seen in a long while
Bullshit tracking on some enemy skills need to be tweaked
Need way more hotkey slots considering the 59 trillion consumables you can stack
Need to not have retarded fullscreen menus for the consolefags
More markers and the ability to name/add a description to them

Passable game for the addicts who really want a new MMO in the current beta state.
Might be worth trying a future beta/release if its a significantly different game build, else meh.

It's unironically just not a good game and barely an MMORPG. Feels like another single player together game where seeing the other players in non-instanced combat is mostly an inconvenience unless it's a damage sponge they call world bosses. If you want to steal someone's mobs they can't do anything about it. There's nothing to discover in this game that matters, there's no potential for mystery and adventure at all, none of the gear is interesting. Lame slop game with nothing to do in the open world besides a quest. At least throne and liberty has its large scale pvp scene if that's your thing, chrono genuinely has nothing appealing about it at all. If people want a boss rush there are way better games that have the same amount of players in a boss instance.

I really genuinely wanted to like this game but it's extremely boring and koreans have somehow forgotten how to make decently interesting MMOs, as p2w and grindy as they used to be. The spam lmb a lot and 1234 sometimes while dodging or holding RMB to block gameplay is tired and boring as shit and I never expected gooks of all people to fall into generic western gameplay tropes with how much they liked to make involved action combat games which require a keyboard.

They will still probably introduce some form of p2w later on, like trying to gouge your wallet over some contrived inconvenience they made up to make the game more annoying to play, or adding some sort of value pack like BDO did which was extremely powerful for years. It's certainly not gonna be worth paying full price for.

Those old MMOs were developed with completely different sentiments in mind, sentiments that fell apart mere months after they launched, but you could still see the fundamental ideas were still there despite everything. It was even like this as late as archeage and black desert, there was a serious passion that went behind designing those games and all these intricate systems based around player interaction before all the ugly p2w shit and powercreep reared their heads. Chrono doesn't have that, it feels like a forced product with no soul behind it, just made to try and take advantage of the gaping hole MMO players are trying to fill. I honestly think it's as uninspired as bless unleashed and there's no way people won't drop this shit en masse after a month or two when it releases.

Atleast if you MMO-brains were consistent you would have some ground to stand on, and your genre would not be the laughing stock that it has been reduced to.

Performance is abysmal, especially relative to the games visuals
Gameplay is mediocre, though might feel better if performance is improved
Nothing really stands out relative to new world, a game that died despite being much more polished. Plus they seem to have actively stolen New World assets.

Every single aspect of this game ranges from mediocre to downright terrible. People are desperate for a new mmo and will glaze it, plus youtubers suck it off because it's the only content they have on the horizon. But fundamentally, the game's test was a huge disappointment. I'd love for them to turn it around and out out a good mmo but goddamn there is a lot of work ahead of a looming launch
