Phantom Dust. 2004/2005 game originally made for Xbox by the same devs who made Panzer Dragoon Saga. It's a really unique mix of character action game like Devil May Cry and tactical card game like Yu Gi Oh set in a post-apocalyptic world with people with Esper powers fighting with mutants and each other for survival. The aesthetic, art style, and music are peak 2000s Japanese grungey past-apo sci-fi. Think Galerians Ash, Texhnolyze, Ergo Proxy, and Chaos Legion.

Highly recommend it desu. The single player is pretty rough at the beginning because of the extremely slow pace and repetition but once you understand all the mechanics, it becomes better and better and more addictive and fun. You collect and buy different powers that function like cards, put them together in your deck, and then you use them on the battlefield during a mission by picking them up in your starting point and assigning them to one of the four slots you have available for your character while trying to move around and maneuver against your enemies. There are 300 different powers to collect. They range from melee attacks, long-distance shots, shields, jumping, and flying, among many others. Between every mission in the game, you walk around the base town while talking to NPCs, accepting quests, buying new powers, and adjusting your "deck". It's a very classic Monster Hunter format (before Monster Hunter was a thing). The main strength of the game is the amazing multiplayer mode which is unfortunately pretty empty now. Highly recommend it either way. It's one of the most unique, interesting, and rewarding games I've ever played. The devs made a remaster version of the game back in 2017 and released it for FREE on PC via the Microsoft Store. You can play it now literally for free.
