The fantasy got ruined by chronic girl boss syndrome and now any time people see women acting as action heroes it leaves a bad taste in their mouths. It's kind of a shame, because I think younger people are missing out on awesome characters like Lara Croft and Samus Aran this way, especially since Lara got recharacterized into a whiny bimbo.
