Once you get the Cyclops moving storage to deeper bases, and even the average travel time becomes pretty trivial for the midpoint of the game.

Waste of time. Just have one central base where all your storage is.

I had 2 bases, 1 in the mushroom forest by the crash site and 1 in the blood kelp by the lost river. I just stored my resources in whatever base I was closer to unless I was working on a project which the cyclops is useful for mobile storage

Played the shit out of this game and loved it but I can't get myself to play the DLC prequel and it ruined the game for me. I hope the sequel thats gonna come out with co-op will be better and less.. fake and gay.

I only played below zero for a few hours. The main character is constantly yapping and the environments and sea creatures are just inferior to the first game

I had one base for most of the game very close to where you spawn in. Then, very late towards end game I made one in thr volcanic area that I never really used. Just wanted to experiment with certain items that draw energy from the area rather than sunlight

this but to a lesser extent
just a single building like a multipurpose room filled with storage is enough, no power for oxygen because at those depths you're either near your seamoth or cyclops
or if you wanna take it to the extreme, make the movable lockers and a beacon for landmark... sure, its virtually less storage per locker, but its easier to carry if all you have on you are the seaglide and other 4 tools

>always build my main base in the Northwestern Mushroom Forest in the clearing where Lifepod 13 is
>could make it even more comfy thanks to the Living Large update
>secondary base in the giant tree cave in the Lost River
>small refueling and restocking bases scattered around the map, one in each biome

I was almost sad starting the endgame and getting off the planet, it was so much fun building them.
