I wanna play Death Stranding 1 but I've always wondered how the online features work.
If I'm autistic about building and improving the country as I go is there like an offline mode? Basically I want to experience the isolated struggle.

yes. if you do it all yourself, it's very tedious. you will want to use the online mode.

Yes. Just log out in the menu.

You should at least try out online mode though, because it is actually the better experience. Elden Ring isn't the same experience in offline mode either.

yes, you only unlock roads, bridges and structs AFTER you connect with said facilities in the region, so basically, when you play for the first time you're not connected to anyone.

The game doesn't work like that. You actually can't see the structures and signs of other players in an area until you have added the knot to the chiral network, and you have to do that all by yourself.

The whole point of playing online is that the world becomes more easily traversable because everyone works as a community to build an infrastructure through combined resources, it's a meta-narrative thing, and people upvoting your structures keeps them in their game world and makes your structure more resistant to timefall corrosion.

if you're on the fence you'll get it once you unlock ziplines and start making a giant route with other people's ziplines
few games have triggered my autism as hard as when I did that
