I have never seen anyone discuss this game, only the character designs, and mostly just Bazz and the fat guy.

You have to play a game to discuss the gameplay. But discussing graphics or the plot summary? /v/ loves that.

no one played it because it looked like a knockoff version of guardians of the galaxy and the servers shut down in two weeks

I played the beta/demo a little bit and trashbot was a genuinely fun and novel character to play as. Everyone else I tried felt like they'd been assembled from a bin of generic hero shooter parts and then there's the big dorky robot armed with a literal vacuum cleaner and they made it work, genuine gold star to whoever was responsible for him.

The map design was bad though, I remember a bunch of games on a map that was clearly designed to be primarily traversed by jumping and grabbing ledges, but heavy characters like trashbot are fat fucks who can barely jump and you end up spending 80% of the match trying to get to the fight and then inevitably by the time you do actually get there the fight has ended and moved somewhere else. Definitely was not a fun or engaging experience.

The weirdest thing about the character bios was that from like a technical standpoint they were really poorly written. The quality of the prose was the kind of stuff you expect to see from a teenager's fanfiction, not a "professional" writer - IIRC lots of short sentences, very dry language, lots of telling not showing. It's one thing when the narrative content is trash (and honestly not all of it was, the junkyard planet that the giant woman with the terrible lipstick is from sounded pretty cool) but normally it's obvious that whoever is writing it has a fairly good grasp of writing on a technical level. Seeing such amateurish prose in a supposedly AAA+ game was quite surreal.
