Sonic Advance 1 has some surprisingly good music.

Ice Mountain Act 2 and Cosmic Angel are the best ones.

sega cannot release these games in the US as they were published by THQ who are defunct. they'd have to remake them.

I like the Advance games but Battle sucks, I tried to like it for the lore and cool artstyle but the actual gameplay is just fucking garbage, and this is coming from an autistic Sonicfag that unironically enjoys parts of 06.

Reminder that Hyenas was SEGA's much hyped "1 billion dollar super game" and for a fraction of a fraction of the price it cost they could have republished, remastered and ported every single game in their entire library to modern platforms.

look up the law. sega didn't do publishing rights so they can't re-release them here. they published them in Japan so they've been able to have them on the Wii U eshop for example.

Tomorrow. It'll have widescreen for everything and Battle will be rebalanced to not make you fight every fight twice (minimum).

Advance 1 and 2 were pretty damn good. Took advance 1 a bit to grow on me but secret base is cool and the egg rocket zone is also very cool
Music is also great

Come to think of it, advance 2 is kind of the first sonic game I played (since it was what sonic ultimate flash copied from)

They will propel you in a direction, so N-shoulder button does a reverse, where the character throws themselves backwards.
F-shoulder goes forward-
D-shoulder does a ground-pound (only Sonic and Knuckles can use these to break ground objects)
And Up-shoulder, which hurls you up.

Sonic also can-
Homing attack/insta shield
Ground pound (Jump, hold+down, jump button)
and Air dash by hitting a directional twice in the air (you can chain these, and break the bosses with it).

Always felt the Advance series was way too pitfall heavy especially when you compare to the Genesis games that only ramped up the pits towards the end of the games.
Battle was an absolute blast and kind of shocked me that we got both e-102 and Shadow returning in the game

Considering the final boss of Advance 3 uses a remix of the main character's theme from Battle (and actively feeding into all the implications that has), many treat it as a subgame to the Advance series in particular.

Your kids self never read the manual, that's where a lot of that was 'hidden'. I also brute forced and understood how to do that stuff BECAUSE Sky Canyon was rough.

Well, you'll never use the Neutral Air, but everything else is pretty intuitive. Like even if you press shoulder at the very end, right before hitting the ground, your move will come out. So it's not a timing thing, just gotta keep those moves in mind. They are all also universal, so everyone has the same moveset in the regards.

Most of Sky Canyon just relies on the Up-Air move.

Nope, you don't have to mash or anything. Just remember, if you launch of it or bounce of it (even enemies that act as jump pads) allow you to do it is all.

Sometimes that might as well be what happens.
Remember Night Dive being the first people to actually look into what it would take to re-release System Shock 2, and they found out that the rights to it were held by an insurance company that acquired the assets when Looking Glass was liquidated?

The fucking barrel of the game
At no point before then do you need to use tricks to progress. I don't think there are any points after where it's necessary either
I think I died like 40 times trying to get past it before I looked it up and discovered the trick system. Guess it's for the best otherwise I probably would have gone the whole game without knowing about tricks.
