if you hack a ps3 can you set it to overclock to get a more consistent 30fps

I've been playing 6th gen games lately.

Most games from that gen are better than ps4 and ps5 gen games.

i simply have access to 99% of games ever made, i don't concern myself with having to play games from a certain gen because they're my only option

I found myself using the PS3 for PS1 games more than actual PS3 games lately. Emulation or not, they run way better on the PS3 than they ever did on PS1, and I don't need not gay ass modchip to get HDMI out of these games either.

I play games from the PS2/Wii/360 eras. New games just doesn't work for me.

Friend gave me his old ps3 around a year ago so yeah. Mainly multiplats with the only exclusives I have are twisted metal, the god of war games, and Killzone 2.

Of course it's hacked, it's current year and it only takes a few files to hack a PS3. That said, I do have physical PS3 and PS1 games and the hack was mainly to make this Japanese PS3 region-free. Being able to play 3D Dot Heroes without paying out the ass for a physical copy (because it was a physical-only game) and all of those PSN titles long since delisted is merely a bonus for getting my copy of RC Helicopter to work.

There's no reason not to install HEN or CFW (depending on the model). For an old box like this it's still pretty capable when it comes to emulation and even movie playback (it struggles with h265 but anything on h264 is easy pickings).

Not at all, PS3 lets you upscale to 480p all the way up to 1080p if you don't want the original 240p, and does fast reading (disc and memory card) without breaking game compatibility. And with hacking you can load the isos directly from the hard drive, so no PSN debuff for output options.

I'm not sure about the popularity, but I found it for $10 at the local store and was surprised to see it's a cool game worth playing. Apparently it's part of a series of budget titles for PS1 and PS2, a lot of them have generic ass names like Kickboxing, Snowboarding, Dodgeball, Paparazzi, Zombie Virus, etc. but the actual games themselves get pretty creative with the main concept.

Nope. I almost exclusively play on my PS5. I only play on my PC when I want to emulate PS2, PS1, Gamecube, etc.

I only play ps3 these days. Spelunky and phantom breakers battlegrounds extreme edition are the only PS4 games that I play. Ps5 is not ever going to be able to make me buy in.

I just bought an x360 online to have sent to a send-in service to get modded, mostly just as a fallback for games I can't be assed to pay truckloads to buy and as a fallback for when my main console fails.

I like the idea of having consoles that just work offline.

I go back further and play 3rd through 6th gen games. But in all honesty, the problem isn't that games went o shit, the problem is that PlayStation and Xbox went to shit. Nintendo and Valve been keeping the game industry alive.

That only applies to PS3 games.
PS2 and PS1 games are still region locked and so are DVD and Blu-Ray movies.
