I'm sorry but the dpad is in the wrong freaking spot on xbox controllers

Dualshock-like placement is inferior for shooters.

Also you can tell Smash was made with the Gamecube/Xbox style in mind when you emulate it.

Controllers in general are inferior for shooters

I 100% agree, but dualshock controllers feels fucking too small
Anonymous No.713489535 [Report]
dpad on the left is only slightly more comfortable when play fighting games or rhythm games, and even then you have the option of actual dedicated arcade controllers for those
meanwhile literally every other genre feels worse with the snoy layout

As much as I enjoyed games on the 360, the controller always felt worse than ps.

I'm sorry but false. The stick is the primary input for 99% on modern games, it goes in the primary spot.

On mobile smartphone I use that claw placement so that I can use 4 fingers when playing shooters. I would think that the dual shock's placement of the dpad and joysticks would be better for claw.

But they're larger (now). The DS4 and Dualsense outsize the xbox controllers in terms of the shell's total dimension and input layout. Only the Duke was bigger (in total dimensions at least).
I can't go back to a classic Dualshock any more than I can stand to use any modern xbox controller, their layouts and shapes feel too cramped. There's no other controller shape I'd want to use than the DS4 layout.

Which is at the bottom, where it's more comfortable for people with normal to large hands.

Actually everyone but microsoft used it, so it stayed an extremely niche feature since 2005.
YES.

sony has been using gyro since the ps3. it's just that games can't go all in on gyro until xbox uses it too, some sony exclusives have made use of it.

Which Sony shooters actually used gyro?
Genuinely curious, I only remember it being used sparingly for a few gimmicks and shaking Rose's tits.

I use gyro on mobile games. Helps with recoil and micro adjustments when aiming while the thumbs are for bigger movements, index fingers are for tapping the aim and fire buttons and many other buttons which is possible using 4 fingers claw grip.

>>713489442

Mouse and keyboard is better.

Claw grip placements for the various controllers and mobile devices. The bigger iPad and other Android tablets allow for 8 or even 10 fingers to be used.

my personal use case for it was in nioh 2 where you can go into the bow/gun mode and it was great there for getting off headshots without breaking up the flow of combat. i don't play fps on consoles so i'm not really sure about shooters.

Interesting, I found a much shorter list, but it also seems like you have to go out of your way to find people using it.

Nintendo Wii and Switch 1 and 2 games use gyro. People who play Splatoon use the gyro/motion controls.

Jokesta on Call of Duty: Mobile uses gyro/motion controls whenever he plays on smartphones.

You can use gyro on CoD console games and even Fortnite console, but it deactivates the aim assist since the gyro aiming is almost similar to the precision os mouse with keyboard, not quite, but almost.

Then why isn't it an issue on the right side, where you're using the right stick in faster, more precise ways than the left? Your comment has always been a flawed response to the stick position debates.

Controller aim assist can be overpowered sometimes. Apex Legends had to have their teams require Bangalore since her smokes disable the aim assist, forgot which tournament that was but people were complaining about the aim assist. ImperialHAl even won a tournament using just Controller aim assist to prove the point that controller aim assist can be overpowered especially since the majority of mouse and keyboard users aren't on the level of pro players.
