I just finished this today. I think it's the best video game I've ever played and has the best story of all time, and I've played Xenogears and Umineko. Every moment of this was a 10/10, and it deserves it's 40 Famitsu score.

It's a Visual Novel, there's no combat, just picking the right choices to lead you to the correct ending.

>It's a Visual Novel, there's no combat
so it's not a video game then, a game needs to have gameplay everything else is secondary

It has gameplay, solving the puzzles of the correct choices to make to progress the story is gameplay

I did not like it very much. Having to jump around kept pulling me out of each story right as I was getting invested in them, and it's hard for me to switch gears and go to a new plot. I think I'm like halfway through.

No, actually VNs are games because they have gameplay and moving sprites and a main menu.

9/10
Would be 10/10 if yaganishita wasn't written out of the second half
Kept up hope he would come back at the end to save the day or something but it was the truck instead, what a shame

Yeah this
Also the finale was pretty dumb, really generic and especially the whole noooo, you can't kill her, you'll be just as bad as she is bullshit that jap media loves to pull
Fun bad ends though, the variety of them was probably my favorite thing about the game

Unironically that guy was the best. The actor gave probably the funniest performance ever given, the humour in the game was top notch.

I've heard this game is good. Is there a "true" ending? How easy is it to obtain? I mean I guess I can look up how to get it if I want.

The Canaan side story written by Type-Moon was extremely boring and I never finished it
Baffles me that it got an anime sequel

yeah that shit felt so out of left field, like I wouldn't call 428's story "realistic" but it at least felt grounded to a certain extent. that shit was just pure anime nonsense and don't get me wrong that can be fun on its own merits but reading it as what I presumed to be a prequel to the main story just felt so out of place
