China high budget media just wants to skip to the end where all the prestige and money is, that's why they don't do anything until it's a formula that's already been proven popular by other developers. That's why all their blockbusters are just Fast and Furious/Michael Bay boilerplate or superhero garbage that adapts Journey to the West or other mythological narrative shit.
Now Taiwan on the other hand, there's some crazy bullshit coming out of that place that will never get the acknowledgment it deserves because it was PC-only in the 90s/00s when the PC was basically irrelevant compared to the international dominance of consoles and thus remained untranslated. Or it's stuff like Nine Sols where Keighley is a craven who wouldn't let it be nominated for GOTY lest he piss off Tencent.
