Each generation is raised on the games that same out during their lifetime. Few ever if any begin with games older than them. As a result, you have people comparing radically different games with radically different design philosophies within the same labeled genre; whether or not that modern game truly has been categorized correctly for that genre

I don't know why but the snes era of games never did it for me, Super Metroid, Mario World LttP... I know they are all universlly acclaimed but I don't like them at all, maybe Mario World but I'd rather play the NES entries of those series
