Why would they care when it sold millions?
We're going to keep getting open-world Zeldas with worse and worse stories, no real dungeons, and countless worthless collectibles for as long Aonuma remains producer.

LOL, no. Just triple down, who cares? Open world slop is in DK now too. And soon, the next mainline Mario

The Zelda team is hyper-reactive to fan reception, so yes.

Whether or not they glean the correct message from the feedback is a different story

I hope so. They had six years, the same amount of time it took BotW to go from an idea to an actual tangible product, to make a sequel with all mechanics, assets and engine all ready. Everyone expected a Majora's Mask level sequel, instead they got a 70 dollar expansion pack. Hating Souls, I'd say Shadow of the Erdtree feels more like a sequel because at least that DLC doesn't reuse the fucking map from the first game
>but muh copypasted sky islands
>but muh rusted ugly as fuck weapons you can now glue shit to
It was bad

I bet that's why they did EoW in the first place.

Tbqh, if I were them and saw that BotW sold triple the amount of the previously best selling Zelda game I probably would double down on it's sequel too. Easy money. They know they can't do it a third time hence why they said they are moving on.

Nothing wrong with doing a similar sequel (See Majora and Spirit Tracks).
But why:
>Story inconsistent with prior game
>Sky empty
>Depths copypasted
>Characters missing/don't recognize Link
>Wtf is up with Link/Zelda's House
>Enemy variety barely improved
>Dungeons barely improved
>Navigation trivialized by hoverbike but wings only last a minute because that would be too broken or some shit?
>Wtf happened to Sheikah tech?
>Why have EVERY SINGLE NPC think fake Zeldas are real?
>Why the artificial gatekeeping of the 5th sage quest? I'll bet more players made it up to Dragonhead Island without doing the leadup.
>Water Temple should have been the underground area

Nerrel’s video is the only one that lists all the issues and isn’t super fucking long
