The only improvement GU has over 4U is nerfing mount spams so you're forced to actually play the game and they only did that to balance aerial style. More monsters doesn't really matter to me, especially when they're monsters like Nargacuga or Barroth. You could always play 3U if you want to hunt a Barroth and that way you could hunt Lagiacrus the way it was meant to be with underwater combat.

That was for GU and MHXX crossplay and framerate only affects minor bullshit in that game. Rise/Sunbreak have fixed all framerate related issues since TU2 in SB so it would be done if they couldn't push a patch to change resolution/framerate for that game.

Never hated the game. It has the 2nd best roster when it comes to mainline games and the most engaging endgame in my opinion. Most wepons didn't suck to play either, beyond HH.

I played MHFU solo and finished Village and player G Rank multiplayer.
Played it for 300+ hours, but I will never solo that game thanks to quests like the G rank Black Diablos in the desert.
Games I previously mentioned have enough qol to make the games soloable if you are not an extreme speedrunner autist and not enough qol to make them soulless slop that you can autopilot like World, Rise and Wilds.

going into the desert without sonic bombs and materials to craft more is on you, MH is about having the right tools for the job
also in that specific quest both diablos have their own zones with almost no overlap so you can take them 1 on 1

Legit only MonHun game I double dipped and then kept trying to keep up with friends on Switch and PC at the same time kinda ended up burning me out, including that the entire anomaly system is beyond bloated where doing it once already felt worse then guilding lands before it, but doing it TWICE was it's own personal hell I'm not doing again.
Wilds lacks anything beyond Artisan minmaxing, and even then they still feel underwelming towards options you can just get normally anyway. You can push for 50% native crit, but then you've got shit for damage. You can push for damage, but you've got less crit then other native options. Beyond elemental/status setting there's little real use for this system, and it'll be useless like how Rampage weapons become once the real endgame at last happens.
