Which one is the best for marriage and procreation, and who did you choose and why?

Thinking about going with Emily this time, because I'm in the mood of dating an autistic & cute woman. Penny likes Sam so that's a no in my book, not to mention it's implied they still fuck from time to time in the forest. The other ones I might date them in other playthroughs.

Year 3 of my first ever run, I went in knowing nothing about this game. I ended up with Leah, although Haley was a close second (i may get a divorce and go for her eventually)

Outside of her kind of being a bitch at you the first time you meet her she warms up to you and becomes the best waifu.

if you're looking to start a family, you can immediately get rid of Maru, Abigail and Leah. Maru because she's autistic and would constantly be comparing you to her father, Abigail because she'd run off into the mines without you looking for adventure but getting smacked down by a void creature or a swarm of bats, and Leah because she intentionally lives outside of town to be free from the pressures of society, so a relationship would be 'trapping' her.

now, these individuals are all young and could change, but that doesn't happen in pelican town

that leaves Penny, Haley and Emily. Penny is a teenager who wants to be a mother and does actually take an interest in educating the three kids that live in the valley. She comes with baggage though, with her mother. Pam is a nice enough lady in public but I could see Pam and Penny arguing about things in front of your kids.

Haley is immature in that she marches the beat of her own drum, doing what she wants. But she is capable of change and growth. Her teasing when you're new to town quickly changes from being face value to just how she talks to her friends. She also has an actual hobby in photography which is a good sign. while Penny is what people think trad wives are, Haley actually becomes one when you marry her.

Emily I feel is the best choice for starting a family with. All her weirdness aside she contributes heavily to the festivals that go on in town and organizes many get togethers for the women of pelican town. she is also an accomplished tailor and actually holds down a job, though she admits its more for entertainment than money. I feel her biggest flaw would be having arguments about her forcing veganism on your kids

your kids start out as infants, take 1 season to turn into toddlers. they stay as toddlers for the rest of the playthrough. they also have relationship bars like your animals and pets do, but nothing comes of it

the fact they never grow beyond toddlers means i can never have kids in stardew again. trapping my children in an eternal state of infancy feels far crueller than them never existing. the only way to free them from that hell is to give their souls to an evil spirit who haunts you

She's poor and lives in a trailer with an alcoholic mother so I felt sorry for her and wanted to rescue her. She's bookish and wants a big family, both of which were pluses for me.

Wasn't originally a marriageable NPC, but I married her as soon as the change was made. She's got a nice butt and is a fun, welcoming person. One of the few NPCs in Pelican Town who was genuinely nice to you from the moment she met you. She's kind of a weirdo but given that magic is real in SDV her new age wackiness probably isn't nonsense.

Once I got past her rudeness she proved to be by far the best girl. She has an actual character arc. It's not that she completely changes her identity, her identity expands as you become more important to her. I find it hard not to pick Haley whenever I replay now.

Best character arc of the whole group, and there's something nice about the simplicity of her loving sunflowers. She even likes daffodils! <3

Reached the 10th day of winter 1st year, havent progressed much as ive been busy play other games.
Did my first trip to the island place and got lots of expensive mushrooms and fruit trees from mobs, that place is super profitable but takes the whole day to explore, beat the crap outta Willy on the fishing contest and i am currently starting to fill my greenhouse with ancient fruit plants.
Next goal, gather tons of seeds for the parrots and catch the legendary winter fish.

I went with Maru mainly because she's the only nonwhite bachelorette. I do like her personality though (what little there is, but most of the girls are kind of one note beyond Haley and her admittedly basic character arc). On a side note I kind of wish her 6 and 8 heart events got switched around; Maru nearly confessing to you after stargazing together feels more appropriate for an 8 heart event than the robot thing.
