Besides the original games back on snes, the xbox games were the only ones i've played. I remember seeing playstation also got a trilogy under the name

Black is generally the better version of the games, but Sigma does add some new content.

They were versions made for Vita without the tuning and certain features from Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden 2 vanilla respectively.
The recommended picks are usually NGB, NG2 (OG), and 3RE.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma is fine, but Sigma 2 is very different from vanilla NG2 in regards to enemy count and encounter design.
